My Story

Journey to Healing and Recovery

Hi, I’m Tanya Jayne, a Healing and Recovery Practitioner with a strong foundation in psychology, NLP coaching, and Internal Family Systems for trauma recovery.

NLP has been life-changing for me. It was the first model I practiced with my first mentor almost ten years ago when I was going through a separation. It changed everything—the way I looked at people, situations, and my past history from childhood. Everything was picked apart, reworked, and reprogrammed. Finally, everything started to make sense. NLP was the start of my healing journey, and it continues to inform my practice as a Healing and Recovery Practitioner. With a lot of self-work and trust in my mentor, the model of NLP made me grow in more ways than I could ever imagine.

Core beliefs about people changed. My extreme thought patterns started to become more balanced. For instance, the belief that “all men are the same” stemmed from my childhood environment and exposure to abusive men, leading me to believe that’s all men do. However, I realized that is not the case. Trusting my NLP mentor and investing in self-development made my journey to a successful, non-abusive relationship possible. This personal transformation fuels my passion for helping others on their own healing journeys.

Not only did my thoughts about men and people change, but I also started to see individuals as unique. Being able to look at them through a more balanced lens of my belief system helped me become more consciously aware of my surroundings and individuals. This resulted in me being more selective of the environments and people I put myself around. This ability to see and understand individuals is central to my work as a Healing and Recovery Practitioner.

NLP and I go back a long way, and it’s probably for this reason I invested in myself even further. The desire to help others overcome negative self-beliefs and make them more positive became a huge focus for me and lit a real spark inside. I knew it worked, and it absolutely could be done; you just have to trust the process. Sometimes it doesn’t make sense because we are used to what we know, which keeps us safe.

Fear of the unknown makes us shy away from growth, but just one step at a time into the unknown is a wonderful place to be, and wow, what a place to see it is! This belief in the power of growth and transformation is at the heart of my practice as a Healing and Recovery Practitioner.

Because of this drive and the spark that was lit, I became the first in my family to apply to university, where I gained a bachelor’s degree in psychology. Never in a million years, ten years ago, would I have thought I’d achieve that! I then went on to study more and become an NLP practitioner. My academic background and ongoing training enhance my ability to provide effective support as a Healing and Recovery Practitioner.

I am hugely invested in helping people live their lives to the best of their abilities. Giving tools and guidance from my life experiences and the knowledge I have gained through my studies over the last five years has equipped me with the tools to help others. This is my commitment as your Healing and Recovery Practitioner.

Learning for me is daily. I constantly research models and theories, allowing me to understand and hone my craft and skills to give people the very best of me that I can. This dedication to continuous learning ensures that I can offer the most up-to-date and effective approaches to healing and recovery.

Transformation through self-work is like scaling a mountain – the journey is challenging, but the view from the top is breathtaking, offering a newfound perspective on life. I believe in the power of self-work and trust in the process of personal growth. My journey with NLP began over ten years ago and transformed my life during a challenging separation. This experience taught me that by reworking and reprogramming our thought patterns, we can achieve profound personal healing and growth.

Empathy and Individuality:

I value seeing individuals for who they are, rather than through the lens of past traumas. My own experience of changing the belief that “all men are the same” to recognising individual uniqueness has been pivotal. This shift has helped me become more consciously aware of my surroundings and the people I choose to have in my life, fostering healthier and more fulfilling relationships.

Commitment to Continuous Learning:

I believe in the importance of continuous learning and personal development. My dedication to self-improvement led me to become the first in my family to attend university, where I earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology and became an NLP coach and practitioner, IFS informed trauma practitioner and trained in Emotional Freedom Techniques (also known as ‘tapping’). I am committed to helping others live their best lives by providing tools and guidance drawn from my extensive studies and life experiences.
